Mr. Nazmi Afshar has limited knowledge about OCALAN

The exchange of letters between Mr. Mustafa Hicri the leader of a section of Kurdistan Party of Iran and Mr.Nazmi Afshar,an Azerbaijani Turkish exile last year about the relations of the two peoples,caused dismay and anxiety both in Kurdish ranks and among some Azerbaijani circles.
The main reason being ,that none of the afromentioned persons touched upon the reality of the issue; Mustefa Hicrif for his part compromised some Kurdish regions
in Iran,which according to the present geographical division are part of Western Azerbaijan province- with Mahabad the headquarter of Kurdistan Repiublic in 1946 included-,and Mr. Nazmi Afshar as an exile,not familiar with current issues of Kurdish politics, humilated some of figurs in Kurdish political history.
In a recent interview with a Kurdish journalist Xalid Muhemedzade - conducted by correspondence- Mr Nazmi without slightest shame and responsibility puts forward hideous accusations against one of the most popular leaders in Kurdish Modern political history namely Abdulla Ocalan ,and call him a "terrorist" based on the falsefied information produced by those circles in Turkish society which deny Kurdish distinct identity.
Mr.Nazmi must learn about Kurdish sensitivity; he must know that Ocalan is suffering in solitary confinement, he must learn and respect the charisma of Ocalan among Kurdish masses, not just in Northern Kurdistan butin whole geography of Kurdistan and whereever the Kurds are living.
If he is serious about his efforts for establishing dialogue and mutualunderstanding among the two peoples,he must inform himself more about the realities of Kurdish cause in all parts of Kurditan.
The minimum demand from both sides at this juncture should be mutual respect for
personalities symbolising Kurdish and Azerbaijani Turkish identities and not disrespect any personality whom is respected by other side.
Is it logical to consider Babek Xoremdin a hero for Azerbaijanis ,but at the same time,attack Simko as a brigand?

Warmongers and racist elements inciting the nobel Kurdish and Azerbaijani Turks against each other

Some minutes ago I was surfing an Azerbaijani related site, I came across a
new weblog calling itself " Komiteye Meromeye defa az xerbe Azerbaijan/Qosha chay"
[The people Defence force for defending Western Azerbaijan/Miyanduwaw]. At first glance I thought it may be a people's initiative for promoting the rights of the people from blow, but when I read their first statement I realized how baised and anti-democratic they are against people, no matter their ethnicity or national belonging.They repeat those racist nonesense which have got momentum among certain groups against Kurdish people. They consider Kurdish people and its organisations as a "threat" to the Azerbaijani Turks. A sheer lie fabricated by their racist masters in military circles in Ankara and elswhere. KURDS ARE FRIENDS OF AZERBAICANIS, they have lived in peace and mutual understanding in many years, and they should continue to be so in future.
The greater Kurdistan and a unified Azerbaijan could be a motivation for self identification based on mutual respect and far from negative attitudes towards each other.
As we have appealed in this blog constantly to the the Azerbaijani Turkish democrats to react against racist tendencies and warmongers, we reitrate that once more that they should not allow war mongers to poison the neiboughrly relations of the two peoples.

Kirkuk issue being pushed into impasse

The provocations continue in Kirkuk and it is time the Turkish government as well as the Turkish public started reading the real picture about this Iraqi province instead of being misled by disinformation.

It was Saddam Hussein who unleashed his atrocities against the Turkmen and Kurdish people of the province. He pushed these people out of the province and with his Arabization campaign he started ethnic cleansing in a shocking magnitude while the world remained silent.

Those who are screaming about rights of their Turkmen brothers in Kirkuk today remained silent at the time as Saddam's forces tortured and killed Turkmens as well as Kurds. No one talked about red lines or even raised this issue with Baghdad. So much so that at one point Iraqi Vice Premier Taha Yasin Ramadan declared there are no Turkmens in Kirkuk and no one raised any objections in Ankara.

When Saddam Hussein was toppled Turkey sent aid to the Turkmens of Kirkuk and tried to organize a political movement through the Turkmen Front which was a mistake. The Front split the Turkmens and created deep divisions among them. It is sad that the Kurds were given an opportunity to exploit these divisions.

So while the Kurds worked hard to bring back the displaced Kurds who were forced to leave Kirkuk by Saddam, Turkmens were left on their own and could not perform like the Kurds in returning to their homes.

But we have to point out that the Kurds have been a majority in Kirkuk while the Turkmens have always been a very select minority who deserve equal rights with the Kurds.

The Kurds want Kirkuk to be a province within their Kurdistan Region of Iraq and hope that a referendum scheduled by the end of 2007 will secure this. We also see very clearly that such a referendum will give the province to the Kurds but we also see that given the current conditions it will be practically impossible to secure meaningful balloting as the security situation deteriorates in Kirkuk.

What is funny is that the Kurds are being blamed for this deterioration which is really nonsense.

Why should the Kurds cerate problems when they can just sit and wait for the referendum that will go their way?

Some Turkmens have been accusing the Kurds of attacking them and Turkmens concerns in Kirkuk. They say all the attacks are always against Turkmens and call for Turkish intervention to stop this. We feel these Turkmens are seriously misleading the Turkish public and are creating enmities against Kurds that may one day backfire against them.

On Saturday nine bombs went off in Kirkuk killing four people and injuring dozens. They were in Kurdish, Turkmen and Arab neighborhoods.

It is clear that sinister hands are at work trying to turn Kirkuk into a city of violence like Mosul and Baghdad. Turkey and the Iraqi Kurdish leaders should cooperate to foil this plot. But sadly we see there is no dialogue between the Iraqi Kurdish leaders and Ankara let alone cooperation. For the sake fo the safety fo our Turkmen brothers and sisters in Kirkuk this dialogue should be secured.

در باره داستان پایتخت کردن ارومیه

در چند سال اخیر شایعه سیاسی جالبی در محافل ناسیونالیستی ترک آذری در ایران و خارج همیشه مطرح بوده است اینکه کردها تصمیم گرفته اند که ارومیه را پایتخت کردستان بزرگ و متحد کنند.

من راستش خیلی گشتم هم در اینترنت و همه از طریق پرس و جو تا ببینم کدام کرد سیاسی و یا حتی غیر سیاسی به شوخی و یا جدی جائی چنین حرفی زده است یا اینکه چیزی در این خصوص نوشته است. هر چه گشتم ردپائی از این گفته و یا نوشته پیدا نکردم. اما وقتیکه به مقالات و نوشته های ناسیونالیستهای ترک مراجعه کردم کلی مطلب راجع به <پایتخت شدن ارومیه> پیدا کردم.

ملا حسنی شاید اولین مقام رسمی ترک بود که برای اولین بار در نماز جمعه شیعیان ارومیه چینین مطلبی را اعلام کرد و بعد از آن ارگانی به نام <مجمع دانشگاهیان آذربایجانی> در نشریه خود از این <نقشه شوم کردها> پرده برداشت و کلی صفحات نشریات خود را در این باره سیاه نمودند. و بعد از آن این خبر شد موضوع اصلی بیشتر مقالات و گزارشات ناسیونالیستهای ترک و جالب اینجاست که هیچگاه کسی با دید انتقادی به منبع این خبر نگاه نکرد. انگاری همه دنبال همچین سوژه جالبی می گشتند تا با طرح آن کردها را بکوبند.

جالبتر از اینها من حتی یک سازمان سیاسی جدی کرد را نمی شناسم که خواهان استقلال کردستان ایران باشد. هیچکدام از دو جناح حزب دمکرات تاکنون شعار استقلال کردستان را مطرح نکرده اند و بعد از سالها طرح شعار خودمختاری تازه یکی دو سال است که خواست کردستانی فدرال در چارچوب ایرانی دمکراتیک را مطرح می کنند. دو جناح کومله هم همچنین٫ حتی کومله مادر شعار فدرالیسم را هم رد می کند. گروه پژاک و پ ک ک هم بیشتر شعار حل دمکراتیک معضل کرد را مطرح می کنند و اخیرا شعار کنفدرالیسم دمکراتیک را برگزیده اند هر چی هست از خواست جدائی و استقلال بدور است. یکی دو گروه ناشناخته و فوق العاده کوچک هم هستند که نه کسی آنها را می شناسد و نه به جدی می گیرد. منظور من این است که کسی شعار کردستان مستقل را مطرح نکرده تا بیایند پایتخت برایش تعیین کنند و آنهم کردستان بزرگ. و خوب حالا فرض گیریم که بعضی از کردها منطقه ارومیه را بخشی از کزدستان بنامند چرا بیایند ارومیه را پایتخت کنند. مثلا تابزرگ شهرهای تماما کردنشینی مانند کرمانشاه سنندج سلیمانیه اربیل دیاربکر یا وان باشند چرا ارومیه را که کردها اکثریت جمعیت آن را نیز تشکیل نمی دهند و شهریست کاملا مرزی پایتخت کنند.

اصلا چرا حسنی و دیگرانی که حرفهایش را جدی می گیرند می خواهند کردها را بیگانه و خودشان را صاحب اصلی این شهر و مملکت بدانند؟ چرا وقتیکه حسنی در نماز جمعه می گوید که ارومیه شهر شیعه هست و کردها بروند در اشنویه کاندید مجلس شوند کسی از ایشان نمی پرسد که شما چرا جدائی طلبی می کنید و به زور کردها و سنی ها را عناصر جدا می دانید؟ اصلا تا الان فکر کرده اید که کسی که به فرزندانش هم رحم نکرد و آنان را به پای چوبه دار فرستاد می تواند سخنی از سر دلسوزی بگوید؟ حالا شما هم بیاید و این داستان خیالی که از مغز حسنی تراویده را آنقدر جدی بگیرید؟

From Kerkuk to Urmia

این روزها کرکوک داغترین موضوع بحث رسانه های گروهی منطقه و مخصوصا ترکیه می باشد. گویا یک شهر ترکیه مورد حمله خارجی قرار گرفته و همه بسیج شده اند تا آنرا نجات دهند. باز هم بوی خوش نفت است که مشام ترکها را تحریک می کند. از همین الان پلاک جدید اتومبیل مخصوص کرکوک را هم آماده کرده اند بنام کرکوک ۸۲.
ترکها که از رفراندوم دمکراتیک و آزاد وحشت دارند دست به تبلیغات وسیعی زده اند که گویا نیروهای مسلح کرد ۶۰۰۰۰۰ کرد را به کرکوک کوچانیده اند تا دموگرافی این شهر به نفع کردها و به ضرر ترکمنها تغییر کند. مادران ترک در کانالهای تلویزیونی برای کرکوک اشک می ریزند خوانندگان مرثیه می خوانند و سیاستمداران و نظامیان هم عریده کشیده و تهدید می کنند خبرنگاران هم تهییج می کنند.

در این اثنا قلمهای مشکوکی در ایران هم داد و فریاد راه انداخته اند که گویا ارومیه هم دارد دچار سرنوشت کرکوک می شود. در روزهای قبل از انتخابات شوراهای شهر و روستا بطور وسیعی در سطح شهر اعلامیه پخش کردند که به نامزدهای کرد رای ندهند٫ در این اعلامیه ها کردها را یاغی و اشغالگر نامیدند. چهرگانی ها هم در خارج کشور در این راستا فراخوان می دهند. بگذریم از اینکه هموطنان ترک ما در شهر وقعی به این تبلیغات تفرقه افکنانه ننهادند. اما هستند جوانانی که تحت تاثیر این تبلیغات قرار می گیرند. امشب بهنگام وبگردی گذرم به سایتی افتاد که بنظرم بسیار مشکوک آمد و جالب اینجاست که این سایت هم همزمان و همزبان با رسانه های ترکیه علیه کردها بلاعموم و کردهای کرکوک و ارومیه بالاخص مطالب تحریک آمیز منتشر می کند.
